New Mexico here we come!

We drove as far as Alamagordo New Mexico on a last minute whim to go visit the White Sands National Park. The folks in Alamagordo are quite nice and the ladies at the Super 8 allowed the dogs to stay for free! I believe they do this for pest control reasons.......allow me to explain.

We were preparing to settle in for the night. We walked the dogs, got the jammies on, found a good station on tv, and were prepared to turn out the lights. Rudi wasn't having any of that business. Instead, he wedged himself between the wall and the bed and decided to dig, dig, dig at the baseboards. Apparently, something was living in our room that was neither human or canine and Rudi wanted it! Real bad! We looked and looked and didn't see what it was. Rosie was too tired to investigate the ruckus....until later that night. While we were dead in the middle of sleep, I heard a rustling noise next to the bed. "What is that????" I thought to myself. All of a sudden, the rustling was followed by a quick scramble and something ran forehead first into the entertainment stand.....yep, it was Rosie all right. Whatever Rudi was chasing earlier that evening finally caught Rosie's attention and she tried her darnedest to get whatever it was. Whatever it was still remains a mystery. All I can say is that I was quite careful when I opened the suitcases at home later that night!

On our way to Carlsbad Caverns and White Sands National Park!
